Current Issue

This second issue of HSBJ presents original research contributions in biomedical sciences and clinical practice. The opening study evaluates the inhibitory activity of white turmeric (Curcuma zedoaria) extract against Escherichia coli, while subsequent work analyzes lipid profiles in patients with coronary heart disease. A pediatric investigation addresses electrolyte disturbances in children under five with diarrhea, and maternal health research examines the association of age and body weight with proteinuria in hypertensive pregnant women. Concluding the issue, a study on the antibacterial activity of shallot (Allium cepa L.) extract against Staphylococcus aureus underscores the therapeutic potential of traditional medicinal plants. Collectively, these articles provide valuable insights into the intersection of natural product research, clinical findings, and their implications for improving health outcomes.
We thank all contributors for their support and invite readers to explore this first edition.
